Raika

Hi,
This is the video of Raika immediately after one of her seizures/spells a few months ago (February, I think).  She's had  two since this one; one much more severe, one about the same.  I couldn't get the video of the one in early April.  My mother was sitting while we were away and had sent me a video because she was alarmed at her behavior.

Regarding this one: note the repetitive twitching mostly and the lost look.  It may look at first like she just couldn't get her footing, but it seems much more "vacant" than that; like she isn't pulling the strings.  This was a fairly mild one and I caught it immediately (I heard her hit the floor from the other room).  She took 3-4 days to go from this (not able to stand at all) to "normal."  I'm pretty sure I gave her an alazopram as soon as I got her to her bed (or soon after); that's the "scared" look I was referring to in our conversation.  I found her on the kitchen floor doing pretty much what you see in the video and picked her up with the sling and set her down on her bed where her behavior didn't change from what you see for maybe 30 minutes. Then I brought her water bowl to her and she drank a lot.

Two days later she's moving around like a drunk walking home from a bar.  Four days and she's just about "normal."

Also, I just remembered, go back and look at Dr. Gibaldi's notes from 2010 (maybe 2011?) It's the only time he's seen her, but he noticed the same thing Nikki (the tech, I think, sorry) did about her being unable to put her foot down correctly.  That's fairly common in these spells, but corrects after several days.  I'm actually curious about his observations then, because that was after the first one and now they are becoming old hat.  We've worked out a system.  It's a crappy one, but manageable.

Assuming she has another one, I'll document and forward what happens.

Thanks and let me know what you think.
